Joanne Bird of Milnthorpe firm Crossbarfx, has reached the final of the Financial Services category at the Enterprise Vision Awards.

The company specialises in foreign currency transfers for businesses and individuals, and was established in 2004 to provide dedicated foreign exchange and international payment services to existing customers of Crossbar Ltd.

Since then, as a stand alone company, CrossbarFX Ltd has grown to cater for a broad spread of corporate and private clients based in the UK and overseas.

Ms Bird will be up against six other finalists at the ceremony in Blackpool.

She said: "I am so proud to be nominated for an Enterprise Vision Award in the financial services sector.

"The awards reward north west women in business and, I hope to be successful."

Ms Bird joined the company in March this year, having been in the retail and business banking industry as a senior personal banker and business manager previously.

The shortlist will be scored individually and independently by a panel of no less than three judges. Once the shortlist scores have been collated an average of six finalists will be selected.

Voting opens on August 14.
